Possessing 30 years of experience in higher education, Erik Krauss has been selected to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bibi Thanjur Foundation. Krauss is currently the Dean of Student Success at Sampoerna University in Jakarta, Indonesia where one of his responsibilities is overseeing academic support services to students attending the university on need-based scholarships. Prior to serving at Sampoerna, Krauss was the Manager of Student Affairs at the University of Central Asia, where he was responsible for supervising non-academic programming at the campuses in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Perhaps most relevant to the mission of the Foundation was Krauss’s tenure as Director of International Education at the University of the Ozarks (U.S.) where he managed the prestigious Walton International Scholarship Program, which provided over $2,500,000 in assistance every year to 60 highly-talented students from Mexico and Central America who might not otherwise have obtained a college education. Krauss has earned degrees from the University of Portland, Eastern Washington University, and Cornell University.
