Chairperson

Welcome to the pages of the Bibi Thanjur Foundation! As chairperson, I am pleased to share with you our story and introduce you to the programs we provide.

Inspired by the memory of Bibi Thanjur and her commitment to educating her children, the Foundation’s team serves to provide monetary support to help children in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral regions, Pakistan, from preschoolers to secondary school students and at tertiary level, especially encouraging female education to becoming educating adults. The Foundation’s mission to identify and support deserving students in Northern Pakistan who have interest and aptitude to pursue their education but are deprived of it due to lack of means guide us to deliver the Scholarship Programme and evolving new programmes such as establishment of learning centres that respond to the needs of beneficiaries.

As a new foundation established in fall 2020, we are seeking support, and we hope you are encouraged by our vision, mission and approach to get involved with our work, either as a volunteer, a donor, or simply as a friend. This website has been developed so that you can learn about the Scholarship Programm, e and read stories of scholarship recipients thus having a better insight how a scholarship award changes the trajectory of a hopeless journey and helps children to fulfil their potential from early childhood to adolescence. 

I believe all children should have equal opportunities for education, and we should all love and support each other and express ourselves the way we want to express ourselves.
