Rahim Gohar

Mr. Rahim Gohar is a Medical Physicist by profession and currently serves as the Head of the Medical Physics section at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) in Nairobi, Kenya. Additionally, Mr. Gohar also works as a Radiation Safety Officer at AKUH in Nairobi, Kenya. Furthermore, he is a Diplomat of the International Medical Physics Certification Board (DIMPCB) and, also a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) from the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board in the United States of America.

After graduating from the University of Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan, he started his career as a Lecturer in Physics at the Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan, and then, he joined AKUH in Karachi for his postgraduate training in Medical Physics with a specialization in Radiation Oncology. Since then, he has been practicing Clinical Medical Physics for the last ten years.

Rahim Gohar believes in public health awareness and, his main objective is to introduce health awareness courses at the secondary and higher secondary school level so that our society should be aware of deadly and non-communicable diseases like cancer. In this regard, Mr. Gohar has been delivering public talks to create general cancer awareness via different platforms. In the long run, he will give public awareness of critical health issues in remote villages through the BTF platform.

For the BTF, Mr. Rahim will assist in making policies regarding primary and secondary education and promoting STEM to the general public.
