Dr. Zahida Bano

Dr. Zahida Bano is working as a Postdoctoral research scientist at Heinrich Heine University (HHU) Düsseldorf, Germany. Her research focuses on Crop Improvement through the Genetic Modification of Plants using advanced gene-editing technology, including CRISPR/Cas9. She has completed a master’s in Plant Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, followed by MS in Biology International from HHU, Düsseldorf, Germany.
Zahida has motivated students toward higher education and guided them to apply for various international scholarships. She is actively working on bringing more Females to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). She is looking for more female scholars from remote areas, including Gilgit-Baltistan-Chitral (GBC) in higher education. She is a recipient of the prestigious Schlumberger FFTF scholarships and DAAD Fellowships.
Zahida will assist BTF on projects related to female participation in STEM, Summer Programs, and scholarship awareness.
