Khizer Zakir hails from Aliabad Hunza. Recently, he graduated from the University of Central Asia, Tajikistan with Summa Cum Laude and received several prestigious awards, including the best graduate and best thesis award. Currently, he is enrolled in a joint master’s program at the University of Salzburg as an ERASMUS Scholar. He aspires to become a Geo Datascientist and focuses on natural hazards in remote mountain regions of Northern Pakistan and Tajikistan, particularly GLOFs. He had the opportunity to serve as a volunteer for the Global Virtual School funded by the Dallas Foundation. Additionally, he has been involved in numerous community services that instilled a sense of passion and commitment to serve and give back to the community once he is capable. He looks forward to learning from everyone and making substantial contributions to the growth of BTF.
