Hailing from one of the remote regions of GB, I’m Fakhira Baig a bachelor student of Economics at University of Central Asia. I graduated from AKHSS Gahkuch in 2019. My high school experience made me a firm believer that education has the power to transform societies. Coming from a big family that struggles to afford quality education, I tend to value the opportunities that support education. I am one of the five children of my parents, and I faced a lot of challenges to pursue my academic dreams. My parents struggled a lot to send me to UCA. They spent most of their saving on my entrance to the university, however with the growing expenses of me and my siblings, it was getting difficult for them to continue supporting me. For the last couple of months, I have been unable to focus on my studies due to my university expenses. I was feeling very helpless and hopeless until I got to know about Bibi Thanjur which gave me a new hope to continue pursing my higher education. I am very grateful for the generous financial support of Bibi Thanjur.
